We had such an amazing time in the Maldives. We got married on 6th August 2005 and left on the 7th August where we had a full jam packed week in sri lanka. We then left sri lanka and flew to the maldives main island and caught a sea plane (25mins) to White Sands Resort & Spa. The sea plane was a great experiance and we recommend it.

We have just returned from our stay at the Diva as part of our second honeymoon and it really did exceed our expectations. We stayed in a water villa and it was beautiful, if we had not wanted to leave our room for a couple of days it would have been very easy to stay in there! There was not very much to see snorkelling wise directly out from our villa, but while we sat outside relaxing there was never more than a couple of mins go by without a reef shark or school of fish swim past. Our villa was located at the more isolated end of the island, with the watersports centre, reception & 4 of the islands 6 resturants located at the other end.

We last went to the Maldives in 1996 as a couple for our honeymoon and had high expectations - which were in fact surpassed when 15 years later we returned for our 2nd trip to the Maldives (Diva) with our three children (13 / 10 / 4). What an amazing place ! The island is beautiful and the proportion of beach is great (some islands have too many bungalows and not enough beach). The sunset side has bigger beaches and is more open whilst the other side of the island has smaller, more shady and private beach space. The sand is soft, fine and white....
